We've really started enjoying bird watching out the boys' window. We'll gather round and just watch them take over our yard. If we're quiet enough, we'll open the window to hear them sing. It's been so cool to slowly identify the birds by sight. Ephraim has gotten really excited when we see a new one. So far, we've seen:
Red Breasted Robins
Steller Jays
Western Tanager
Chestnut Backed Chick a Dees
Dark-eyed Juncos (slate-colored, Canadian Rocky Mountain)
Varied Thrushes
Sparrows (don't know what kind yet!)
We used to have a woodpecker come and visit. Hopefully, we'll see him again, so we can identify him! Time to invest in a pair of binoculars! Hopefully, we'll keep up with our nature journals. We're using The Sibley Guide to Birds. I really like it's format.
Happy bird watching!
